Bienvenue to Pastries and Passports!

I’m so glad you’re here. Really. My goal is to live my life on my own terms by letting go of the fear and embracing the excitement that happens when you truly live your life, while at the same time inspiring everyone that reads my blog to do the same! If you love adventure, visiting different places, learning, baking, cooking, or even passing the time at home with a good book or movie, then you’re in the right place.

On my blog you will discover

  • Loads of information about traveling, such as my thoughts on the places I’ve visited, the experiences I’ve had while in the country, and tips for planning (one of my favorite parts of traveling)!
  • A myriad of simple, yet delicious, recipes.
  • Cooking and baking how-tos.
  • Random musings on life.

A bit more about me

  • I love the feeling of freedom and excitement I experience when jumping on a plane and flying to a new place. But the sensation of returning to a destination previously visited is like crossing over the threshold to home, which is equally lovely. Side note, new goal–find a killer deal and hop on a plane the same day! #bucketlist
  • I hate hashtags, because apparently I’m an 80-year-old, but I use them ironically. Nothing against those that love them, you do you boo.
  • Tea makes me very happy, but I still can’t kick my Pepsi Zero habit (sometimes I think why should I? Other times I’m like, oh yeah, I don’t feel great when I drink the stuff, also, it’s awful for you, amirite?!?).
  • I am passionate about education and educating, and I believe that having access to a decent, and affordable education is a fundamental human right.
  • I have an undeniable need to continue to learn and grow on a personal and emotional level. I think this is ironic given that I was not really a good student (ha, I was a poor student) until university. That’s when I hit my educational stride.
  • I love dinner parties! The cooking. The baking. The conversation. The company. The drinks. There are fewer pleasures in life that are more rewarding for me than slowing down to appreciate those things with family and friends.
  • I can speak, read, and write in French–I don’t think I do those things particularly well, but I enjoy it. I’m probably at a B1 level at this point, which has taken me an embarrassingly long time to achieve. However, as they say (who are they anyway?), c’est la vie, slow and steady wins the race, etc, etc.

The Photography

  • All of the images taken on this blog were taken and edited by me, unless otherwise noted.
  • I have three different cameras that I use and a handful of lens for some of those cameras.
  • I kindly ask that you request permission for using anything on my blog and if permission is granted, you must also give credit to me and my blog, as I spend a fair amount of time working on the content.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey we call life. Pretty please follow me on Instagram and Pinterest! You can also sign up for my email list to be notified when new posts hit the blog.
